This class will explore Ancient Egypt and dive deeper into Ancient Egyptian customs and some individuals from that time. During this 5 week class, we will be learning about the lives of some famous Egyptians as well as having a little fictional fun. Learners will get to know more about Ancient Egypt Learners will understand the difference between the many types of resting places of the Pharaohs Learners will learn about Khufu, Akhenaten, King Tut, and others Learners will learn about the different time periods of Ancient Egypt Learners will learn more about the beliefs of Ancient Egyptians, including the Underworld, why mummification was so important, and more!
I have been a teacher on Outschool since 2020 and I teach on 2 additional online platforms. I have a biology background, however, I studied US and World History for 3 years in college, as well as 2 years of Chinese. I have also trained in a non-credited format, for many years, with an author and speaker who specializes in teaching children character qualities. I have always enjoyed teaching. My first teaching position was in Moscow, Russia, teaching English as a second language. Since then, I’ve taught in various settings which include a cooperative, a preschool, and as a tutor in the areas of math, science, and English. I also am a homeschool mom! I have taught this class to different groups at a cooperative, for both lower and upper elementary students. I enjoy teaching a subject or principle and including different areas of study along with the original idea.

I will only provide assessments if parents request this and it it is requested prior to the first class. I can provide assessments on projects or general participation. The assessment will be done via message to the parent.제공되는 성적
I will not grade students unless parents request this prior to the first class. I will assess the projects done, participation, and completed work (including the book), and combine for a general grade for each class. At the end of the 5 weeks, I will give a grade for the overall class.
While not designed for any needs, I do understand various types of learning and learning needs. This is why I include different ways to deliver materials and instructions.
Students will need a copy of the book, which I will email a list to parents after enrollment. Books can be downloaded on a Kindle device instantly, purchased directly, or borrowed from the library. Students will also need supplies for their projects. Depending on what they want to do, most supplies will be on hand, such as paper, cardboard, glue, crayons, scissors... and if they'd like to just write a poem or build with legos... that is just as good!

Multiple Egyptian gods will be discussed and mummification will be discussed. These could be sensitive subjects for some, however, the topics are discussed in an age appropriate way.
