In this one time class, students will practice reading Vowel Team (CVVC, VCC) words in isolation and sentences to help build their fluency. Fluency is the ability to read words with automaticity, accuracy, and expression. Readers who don't read fluently often can have reading comprehension difficulties. This class is great for late 1st grade, 2nd or 3rd grade students. Students should have some exposure to reading words with vowel teams (ex: grain, boat, shout, etc ) and sight (High Frequency) words. Sample Class Format: 1. Letter Sound Warm up 2: Blending and Segmenting Vowel Team words (ex: t-r-ai-n ->train) 3. Read a short decodable passage or book. This class is great for students who need to review their phonics skills including students with dyslexia and ESL students
