In this class, students will learn the Latin terms for the various types of clothing ancient Romans wore through a slide show presentation. As they learn these terms, I use questioning to get them to think of English words derived from them, while also providing examples that will build their English vocabulary. They will explore the purposes of clothing and how the ancient Romans were similar to and different from our own culture through class discussion regularly interspersed throughout the class period. There will be quiz games to test their understanding of both Roman dress and English root words learned in class.
