Language Arts: Spelling: Students will learn to read, write and spell the list words given in class. Students will practice spelling through writing, reading, and spelling aloud.  This allows students to use several of their senses to help practice spelling and will better help them remember how to spell.

Welcome! Welcome! My name is Teacher Kathy Ortiz. I am excited to bring you classes like spelling bee, typing, telling time on a analog clock, US States and capitols, Vocabulary, Phonics, Reading.  All of my classes are available to be booked for a private session, pending room on my schedule. Message me if you want more information. I have been teaching/homeschooling for over 20 years and I love teaching all ages.  I have a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Management and a  Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning with Technology. I also have training in behavioral therapy.  This applies to working with students with disabilities.  This gives me a perspective to be able help students adapt in a variety of ways to their learning.  I believe learning should be fun, encouraging, and help the student be able to feel confident in their new skills they are learning. I strive in my classes to help each of my students feel welcome, like they have a voice, and that they can learn. I believe education is for life and not just during "school" time. I encourage and welcome parents to be involved in the process, after all parents know their kids better that anyone. I am a parent myself with 3 children. I have homeschooled all three, and they are now living their adults lives working and going to college.  I am excited to go on this educational journey with you and your children. Language Arts: Spelling: Because of age of students, Parents are recommended to be nearby to help as needed.
handwriting/printing: Parents need to be available to help students as needed. Also Parents needs to provide printed materials or 3 lined notebook paper for their student along with a pencil for writing with.
Nearpod.com, kahoot.it, blooket.com are all sites we will use for games with the weeks spelling words. All sites do not require sign up, a link/code will be provided in class to join in the game.
