Week #1
* One sheet of watercolor paper, watercolor paint, and brushes (alternatively, you can use a canvas and acrylic paint if you prefer)
* Graphite transfer paper (carbon paper)

Week #2
* A cricket (available at local pet supplies stores) or other live insect of choice
* Science journal or notebook (3-ring binder with paper, spiral bound notebook, or composition notebook are all good options)
* Handout (dichotomous key and labels) will be provided in class
* Optional field collection tools (instructions will be provided to build your own with household materials)

Week #3
* Science journal or notebook 
* A hula hoop or long length of string to mark an area 
* Optional field collection tools

Week #4
* Handouts (mosquito lifecycle diagram, map of farmer's ranch) will be provided in class
* Science journal or notebook
* Access to local newspapers, magazines, or news articles online for homework

Week #5
* Live insects of choice (crickets, sow bugs, ladybugs, etc.)
* Handlens, or jeweler's loupe
* Science journal or notebook

Week #6
* Bring your completed project to class. Project materials will vary by student but could be as simple as an egg carton or a piece of cardboard with insect adhered.
