The main goal of this class is to get kids excited about celebrating festivals, and learning about cultural traditions through movement. We will learn active dance moves to upbeat Bollywood music along with understanding the significance of the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi - which celebrates Ganesha's Birthday (Sep 10, 2021).
The class also aims at achieving basic coordination, rhythm, and memory. Younger kids will be able to perform the dance with help, older kids should be able to dance by themselves!

I'm a passionate and enthusiastic teacher based in Chicago, United States. I have been dancing for 3 decades and have ~ 10 years of teaching experience with kids from ages 3 and up! My mission is to spread the joy of Indian Dance with a unique approach to teaching Bollywood Dance to kids of various ages and diverse learner needs. I am passionate about keeping kids active in a fun way. I am trained in an Indian classical dance form "Bharatanatyam" and I'm excited to bring my love for dance and teaching kids to learners on Outschool!

I was born and raised in Rajasthan, India and have been dancing for as long as I can remember! I speak English, Hindi, and Tamil. My past professional experience includes running a dance + culture kids program in after-school programs + dance studios, performing & Interacting with multicultural audiences all over Chicago.
