Week 1Lesson 1The Writing ProcessIn this lesson, students will learn about the five stages of the writing process. We will discuss prewriting to publishing, and I'll be sharing some writing tips to get you started.Week 2Lesson 2Editing & RevisingIn this lesson, students will learn about the CUPS Editing and ARMS Revising strategy. Throughout this class, you will use this strategy as you complete your stories each week.Week 3Lesson 3Brilliant BeginningsIn this lesson, we will learn all about the different ways to begin a story.Week 4Lesson 4Delightful Details - 5W'sIn this lesson, students will learn how to add additional details to their stories using the 5W (who, what, when, where, and why) strategy.Week 5Lesson 5Delightful Details - 5 SensesIn this lesson, students will learn how to add additional details to their stories using the 5 Senses strategy.Week 6Lesson 6Delightful Details - "Show, Don't Tell"In this lesson, students will learn how to add additional details to their stories using the "Show, Don't Tell" strategy.Week 7Lesson 7Dialogue - IntroductionIn this lesson, students will learn the basics of adding dialogue to writing. Learners will improve their understanding of essential writing elements such as dialogue, editing/revising, adding details, etc., and will practice their story-writing skills under the careful guidance of an experienced writing teacher.

Homework Offered
Students are asked to submit their weekly writing for review by the teacher. If writing is submitted, I will provide feedback within 72 hours.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
