수업 소개
I was so excited to find Gimkit, as it is a wonderful way to work on educational topics. My kids beg me to play this with them whenever they have free time, and each kit I have set up is educational. Every child I have played the various games with loves it and tells me our lessons go by super quick when we play this. There are multiple different games within the platform, and each of them are closed servers. The only players will be the kids in the class that I have given the code to. No outsiders can access the game. I play this game along side them the whole time and encourage camaraderie as we go. How does this help with spelling? Each kit I create has different questions. In order for learners to play the game, they must have energy. In order the get energy, they must answer the questions. A few question examples are listed below. What is the long vowel team in PEACE? Answer: EA How do you spell SKATE(this is audio so they can’t see the word)? Answer: skate Which is the correct spelling? A: bright b: brite c: brit d: bight Each week we will play a different game on Gimkit and I will change spelling questions as needed. We will be using a website called Gimkit. Students do not have to login to be able to play. All they need is a game code that I give them. Students will also be using nicknames and the only people in the game will be me, your student, and the other students in the class. No other website or private information is needed.

I have been playing this game with my kids and kids in our coop for years.
I’ve been doing private tutoring for several years with ages 3-14 both virtually and in person. I started with ELA (a lot of spelling, writing, and reading) and then as my kids grew and I started teaching them more, I delved into all other subjects. I find great joy in teaching and find it easy to connect with the students. My biggest strength is being able to meet the kids where they are at and to see where they need to go. I feel that I am excellent at breaking down difficult material into easy to manage and understand sections.
I have worked with kids from a variety of different backgrounds, learning disabilities, and behavior disorders. I volunteered in my church nursery for 7 years before I had kids of my own. My wife and I run a small, private coop where I co-teach the classes with her. From this, I have a lot of great ideas and strategies that have proven to work already. Reach out for any questions.
