In this class we will take a unique path to preparing for kindergarten. We will discover new languages and cultures as we explore the seven continents of the world while also gaining basic skills necessary for kindergarten. Over the next eight weeks, there will be a lesson available for each day of the week. Students will learn and gain academic skills that will prepare them to enter kindergarten at or above grade level. Students will learn about people, cultures, languages and some geography of the world that they live in.
Mrs. Lewshawnda Haywood- I have more than 20 years of experience teaching young learners as well as creating PreK programs for schools. I ran a 4 year old PreK program for a charter school in which students were reading at a 1st grade level by the end of the year. I also founded a private school of my own which included 3 and 4 year old Pre-K students who ended their year not only prepared for Kindergarten but also as confident beginning readers as well.

Students are welcome to move around as they are in their seats without actually standing up but they are also welcome to stand up and do all movements in an open and safe space. In this case, parental supervision is advised so that students are safe as they are dancing or making physical movements such as: lifting arms, touching toes, turning circles or running in place.
