In this club, students will get to explore a wide variety of classic cinema, some they will know about and some they will learn about for the first time. Each week we will analyse,discuss and explore a classic movie ranging from 1930s Hollywood through to 1920 German expressionism and Italian neo realism. We will have fun as we make links between the films and place them in their historical and cultural context. As a Film Studies teacher in the UK I have a great passion for films and...
Students will improve their understanding of a variety of classic films and discuss them with each other, improving their listening and debating skills.
As an experienced Film Studies and English teacher I have run Film Clubs in schools in the UK for many years. I always encourage discussion amongst the learners about each film and its context.
Students will need to watch the films before each club meeting. They will be available to stream online or on DVD.
