In this multi-day class, we will cover a variety of age appropriate social skills, such as being attentive when engaging in conversations, avoiding distractions and staying focused, as well as being sensitive to and patient with others. We will also learn about emotions: the role they play in our life, how we can recognize them in ourselves and in others, how we can calm ourselves down when we are feeling strong emotions, and how to recognize and respond to bullying. Learners will understand that all feelings are okay; there is no such thing as bad feelings. 3. Learners will be able to recognize, name and manage their feelings. 4. Learners will gain tools for resolving conflict with others. 5. Learners will gain tools for including others and asking to be included. 6. Learners will gain an awareness of feelings in others. 7. Learners will gain tools for handling bullying.
I have had extensive training in the area of Social Emotional Learning, including Bullying and Trauma Informed Care. Most of my training has come through CASEL, EdWeb, Second Step, Conscious Discipline, Deeper Learning, Colorado Shines and Early Childhood Investigations Webinars.
