For each class it is expected that a student submit an essay in the beginning of each week and then take the edits and feedback into consideration for editing and revision for a second submission at the end of each week; furthermore, students should watch the weekly videos and complete the mid-week writing activities as well to stay engaged throughout the week. This course is meant to be a taken for students who wish to receive writing feedback on essays they are currently writing or have written in the past; furthermore, it will help students who are in progress of writing an essay and who are practicing their writing soar to the next level! Students should come to this class with hopes of editing, revising, and revamping current essays that they are working on for other classes; this course will essentially be an essay writing class where students can submit writing in order to get personalized feedback to improve their essays and writing skills. Each week will begin with a video lecture on the weekly writing topic of analysis. On top of that, there will also be weekly writing assignments, videos, games, and online scavenger hunts to challenge students on becoming better writers and practicing skills such as topic brainstorming, brevity and concision, sentence variation, punctuation enhancement, and how to do research and cite textual evidence properly. Students will also have the chance to review important skills, tips, and tricks for how to perform better on the writing portion of the SAT, ACT, and/or other writing exams in their regular core classes. To make the class interactive, it will operate as a workshop model, where students will get weekly feedback on their essay submissions from myself and peers if a multiple-learner class where I will operate feedback on a workshop model with teacher and peer commentary throughout the week; students will have ample ways to communicate throughout the week with myself and other students so although the learning is asynchronous, it is consistent and communicative. There will also be weekly polls, videos, games, and online scavenger hunts to challenge students on becoming better writers to help make the flexible format just as engaging for students who prefer to be off-screen through discussion questions, challenge activities, or sharing work. Below is a sample breakdown of each week during the course: Week 1: Essay Revision #1 + brevity and concision exercises + digital poll, discussion questions, and practice (Example date: May 3) Week 2: Essay Revision #2 + sentence variation activities + digital grammar game (Example date: May 10) Week 3: Essay Revision #3 + punctuation practice + digital grammar game and video(s) (Example date: May 17) Week 4: Essay Revision #4 + SAT/ACT test tips and tricks + online survey and scavenger hunt (Example date: May 24)

Students will learn best practices for mastering essay writing across their English classes, regular core classes, SAT/ACT writing tests, and learn skills to help them develop into a college level writer for their future endeavors.

I am super passionate about it, and I want to help students find joy in writing as well as assuage any nerves they have on any writing assignments or exams. My writing syllabuses has also been approved by College Board, and I am an AP reader for College Board, so I truly know what the students need to do to master such writing exams.
