In this ongoing class, we will build early reading and writing skills by learning to blend and segment CVC words. Students will practice reading and writing CVC words. We will also learn sight words which will build vocabulary for reading. Students will use these skills to practice reading simple sentences with sight words and CVC words which will help to increase reading fluency. This class will also allow for students to meet new friends and build social skills as well. Songs, rhymes,...
The student will build early reading skills by blending and reading CVC words. The student will build early writing skills by segmenting CVC words and spell CVC words.
I have years of experience teaching literacy skills in the elementary school. I also have a Master's in Reading and have taken many professional development courses to continue my craft in providing effective instruction that helps students achieve goals and become successful learners. More than anything, I am just a person who cares and wants children to feel successful and accomplished in their learning.

Practice skills learned in class. Practice reading 20 minutes a night to increase vocabulary and reading fluency. I may send a practice handout which is not required to be turned in.수업 외 주당 0 - 1 시간

Students need to know most letters and letters sounds.
A dry-erase board and markers is very beneficial in practicing literacy skills. Other supplies such as crayons, pencils, paper, etc. are beneficial to have available just in case they may be used for an activity during class.
