This course will set students up for success when it comes to writing. The five paragraph essay is essential and considered the foundation. MLA format is also extremely important to know going into high school. Types of essays such as informative and persuasive will be discussed. This course will be very interactive and involves a lot of participation from the students. It is critical to have constructive feedback from not just the instructor; but, peers as well. All topics below will be discussed as these are the foundation of writing for this age group. After taking this course, please make sure to enroll your learner in Writing PART 2- Ages 10-15 so that they can continue work on their essay they started in this class. If you need more one on one time with Dr. W, she also offers private lessons as well! Please also note, if within 10 minutes of class starting there are no learners present, class will be canceled. No refunds will be given should this be the case. It is extremely important learners show up on time as the full time is needed to teach the proper curriculum.
