In this self-paced class, learners will learn to solve and practice solving multi-digit addition and subtraction problems, a key second (2nd) grade and third (3rd) grade math skill, with virtual games. This course will utilize scaffolding to allow learners to understand where to place the numbers when adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers with and without regrouping. This course will utilize the standard algorithm for solving these problems. The lessons will be in Nearpod and will include interactive slides that the instructor will first show how to solve the problem, then allow the learner to solve a problem themselves and enter the answer, then the instructor will explain the answer for that problem. This course uses both Nearpod and Blooket to deliver activities and lessons. 2 digit addition without regrouping/carrying 2 digit addition with regrouping/carrying 2 digit subtraction with and without regrouping/carrying 3 digit addition and subtraction without regrouping/carrying 3 digit addition with regrouping/carrying 3 digit subtraction with regrouping/carrying Interaction in this course: 1. For each lesson, teacher will share a short video on how to solve the type of problem for that week. 2. For each lesson, the teacher will share a variety of games to play. 3. For each lesson learners will receive a virtual matching game. 4. For self-paced learners the teacher will provide feedback for learners that submit their worksheets for review.
