This course will explore multiplication tables 1 through 10. We will make it fun by using various manipulatives to learn the fundamental concept of multiplication. We will use a combination of hands-on activities and other activities to improve their understanding and memorization of multiplication. Students will learn multiple strategies for solving the problems including the commutative property of multiplication, repeated addition strategy, groups strategy and using arrays to solve multiplication problems. Students will follow along with their own manipulatives to create multiplication problems, display repeated addition, create groups, and form arrays. Week of December 2, 2024 - Multiplying by 1 and 2 Week of December 9, 2024 - Multiplying by 3 Week of December 16, 2024 - Multiplying by 4 Week of December 23, 2024 - Multiplying by 5 Week of December 30, 2024 - Multiplying by 6 Week of January 6, 2025 - Multiplying by 7 Week of January 13, 2025 - Multiplying by 8 Week of January 20, 2025 - Multiplying by 9 Week of January 27, 2025 - Multiplying by 10 and Strategy for 11 Week of February 3, 2025 - Multiplying by 1 and 2 Week of February 10, 2025 - Multiplying by 3 Week of February 17, 2025 - Multiplying by 4 Week of February 24, 2025 - Multiplying by 5 Week of March 2, 2025 - Multiplying by 6 Week of March 9, 2025 - Multiplying by 7 Week of March 16, 2025 - Multiplying by 8 Week of March 23, 2025 - Multiplying by 9 Week of March 30, 2025 - Multiplying by 10 and Strategy for 11 This is not a fast-paced class. Supplies: Students can use manipulative from around the house including candy, beans, beads (with a flat side), or any similar small object. The teacher will use a variety of manipulatives to provide variety.

Adult supervision and/or assistance with the use of safety scissors is needed especially when students do not have previous experience using scissors.
