수업 경험
For each section of the book, students will learn vocabulary words, using definitions and sentences. Students will analyze the chapters as they read sections. We will discuss story elements: characters, setting, plot, problems, solutions. We will make personal connections to the story for better comprehension. I will use power point slides with pictures and paragraphs to help guide students' thinking. I encourage interaction between students and myself as we discuss and answer questions....
Students will improve their oral reading and comprehension skills. Each lesson, we will study vocabulary words, and discuss elements of the story. The students will be able to make personal connections to the story as we discuss: Who? When? Where? Why? Also, students can learn that reading is fun and takes us to places we might never go otherwise. This story is about a boy's survival on his own, and will be exciting to young readers.
I have taught this book many times in public school, so I am familiar with different reactions from students.

The hero in the story is involved in a plane crash where the pilot of the plane dies. The boy uses courage and perseverance to endure and survive the crash. He must make a way to survive and be rescued.
