US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner Level
This is an ongoing tutoring class that meets once per week. Students will be practicing decoding, comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, and fluency. I incorporate easy readers, interactive games, activities, and rewards. Classes can be structured to practice or reteach what has been taught in school. I also follow a self-made curriculum. I have been a teacher for many years and have a master's degree in learning disabilities. I love interacting with children and helping them to gain confidence in reading!

Students may need pencils, markers, crayons, paper, and dice.

Hello!
I am so excited to be a teacher on the Outschool platform. Reading and literature are what I am passionate about. I know what a difference reading can have in a child’s life because all subjects hinge on reading. During the first years that I taught I became very concerned about children who struggled academically so I received a master’s degree in learning disabilities. I enjoy making reading fascinating, fun, and friendly but not formidable. By using phonics and games in a relaxed setting my students experience success. I have been a teacher for over thirty years. I have taught first and second grade, been a resource room teacher, and taught classes to homeschool students. I have also homeschooled my own four children through high school. One interest that I have discovered is Kpop and now I really enjoy that music genre!
