We will explore the beauty of watercolor and create this translucent spring painting. Students will learn to blend soft colors and create detail. Proper brush care will be discussed as well as how to use the brushes to create texture with them. We will discuss what colors to begin a watercolor with, and why shading and hi-lighting are such an important part of a painting. I have been painting, and teaching art for over twenty years and am always inspired by my students creativity.
Supply List 8 inch by 10 inch watercolor paper, bowl or water, paper towels, number 12 round brush that comes to a point, palette paper (or a watercolor tray or foam plate), Watercolor paint tubes, not the trays. A set is easy to find a craft stores. We will use white, yellow, orange, alizarin crimson(red), purple, blue, green, brown and black.
