REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: This is a continuation class from level one. If you did not take level one but you know some Japanese, please make sure you know all of the following before enrolling. Week One - We will learn Katakana this week Week Two - We will finish learning Katakana this week Week Three - New Vocabulary (around 50 new words) Week Four - casual verbs vs polite verbs - Particles を、で、に Week 5 - Creating sentences about every day activities - Inviting people to do things (and declining) Week 6 - Frequency adverbs, talking about how often you do things - Translation practice. Week 7 - Writing project. Write about your daily routine. Week 8 - New Vocabulary (around 50 new words) Week 9 - talking about existing in Japanese - talking about school schedules in Japanese Week 10 - describing where things are - past tense/ diary project Week 11 - new uses for particle も -Jikan Week 12 - 13 new Kanji - Dialogue translation project
I am not a native speaker of Japanese, but I have been speaking Japanese for 10 years, and teaching it for about 6. I have lived long-term, in Japan. I have a Bachelor in Education, majoring in teaching second languages, as well as attended University in Tokyo, Japan.
Learners should be prepared to take notes, in whatever form they prefer to take notes. Learners may also want materials to create their own flashcards, if they do not like online flashcards.
I will sometimes use quizlet as a resource for vocabulary flashcards.
I will provide materials to students to learn from. I am following the "GENKI" Japanese textbook series to guide my curriculum
