• Welcome to the American Girl Club! • This class is designed for learners who love American Girls, whether it's the classic Historical girls, to the Girls of the Year, or even Wellie Wishers. Each week we will dive into the life of a new American Girl and learn all about her unique story. Our class environment is laidback, fun, but full of some great information! We will dive into time periods that go way back to the 1700s up to present day. Not only will we come to discuss the different American Girls and their unique stories, but we will also share some facts that go along with their time period. We will also come to socialize with each other and share our love for American Girls. Information will be displayed through a slideshow presentation created by myself. Learners are welcome to share any additional facts they have about her, or share their opinions on her story. I will ask questions that tie into the message behind each of the girls. For example, I might ask what they would do if they were in this girl's shoes, or I might ask if they have any special talents like the girl we're focused on. Last but certainly not least, learners are highly encouraged to bring their favorite American Girl doll to class. At the end of class, learners will have the opportunity to share who they brought with them to class and share what they like most about her. If you do not have the doll that matches with our weekly story, please don't worry! Bring whoever you want to our class :) These introductions/discussions are a great opportunity to practice speaking, sharing, taking turns, listening to others, and developing friendships and connections with other students who love American Girl dolls. It is not required to know about the American Girl we are talking about each week. That's the fun part about our class- we are always learning something new together! 🔸 Class Schedule 🔸 Week of 7/15: Ka'ya Week of 7/22: Felicity Merriman Week of 7/29: Caroline Abbott Week of 8/5: Josefina Montoya Week of 8/12: Cecile Rey & Marie-Grace Gardner ^ More classes & girls will be added as it gets closer! ⭐️ Since this class is ongoing, you may join (or leave) at any time! The classes will not build off of each other, as we are going to be discussing a new American Girl each week.

Hello everyone, my name is Miss Alyssa. Welcome to my classroom!
I am a positive and enthusiastic teacher who loves to integrate fun into my classroom. I have my Bachelor's degree in Education. I have been teaching for 5 years. I have taught Preschool and Pre-K. Currently, I teach 5th grade.
I truly believe that children learn best not only when they're engaged, but also when they're having fun! That’s why I strive to make learning fun for all children.
What does my classroom look like? My classes will offer slideshow presentations, movement/brain breaks, music and stories, arts and crafts, experiments, and open discussions. Each class will be engaging, interactive, and student-centered. I offer the 3-step approach to learning: I do, we do, you do. With this approach, I first model the lesson and show the expectations. Then, we try it out together as a group. Lastly, students are encouraged to try on their own. I will support students in whichever way they need that fits their individual learning style.
I love to take the interests of my students and integrate them into my lessons. I believe that children are more eager to participate when they are truly enjoying the lesson!
I am so excited to meet your learners in class & I hope to spark their love for learning the same way that my teachers did when I was young!❤️
