In this one-time class, students will learn how to add and subtract fractions and mixed numbers. We will start by adding fractions and mixed numbers with the same denominator and then move on to adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with different denominators by finding the lowest common multiples. I like to teach using the I do, we do, you do style. I will always show one or two examples in their entirety to walk through the steps of how to solve a problem. Then, as a class, we will complete several problems together to ensure there is an understanding. Finally, learners will be given problems to work through on their own, so I can identify and assist with any problems they may be having. Students will need a paper and pencil to complete problems in class. I will also be providing 20 additional extra practice problems with an answer key for learners to continue working on their new skills.

Hello, my name is Seana Mohr!
I am a certified K-6 teacher and am passionate about teaching reading, writing, and math to students in Pre-K through third grade. I believe that learning should be fun and try my best to keep lessons engaging and interesting. I have been working with children for 15 years and have done everything under the sun. Most recently, I have spent time as a kindergarten and third-grade teacher, math and reading tutor, and ESL teacher. I know that every student is unique and with the right tools and strategies they can reach their full potential.
