In this full-year class, students will receive all the necessary tools to be successful in third grade. This class will cover essential subjects such as Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies. Social Studies will focus on History. My goal is to ensure that learning is fun and successful for every learner enrolled. We will also explore music, dance, and chant to make the learning experience engaging and dynamic.

Students will receive homework and detailed feedback
In this class, students can access several interactive learning websites such as Lilio, Epic!, Zearn, NearPod, etc. Teachers will assign activities on these websites throughout the week, which will be used during class time.

We will have fun learning and practicing our motor skills through singing and dancing, and students can enhance their social skills by interacting with their classmates.

Math will follow the Eureka Math curriculum, covering:

Developing an understanding of multiplication and division, and strategies for solving problems within 100
Understanding fractions, especially unit fractions (fractions with numerator 1)
Exploring the structure of rectangular arrays and area
Describing and analyzing two-dimensional shapes
Social Studies will cover:

Understanding what creates a community and the role of families in communities
Learning about different types of government (local vs. federal)
Understanding citizenship and community leaders
Exploring economic systems in different communities
Science will cover:

Classification of animals: Vertebrates and invertebrates, and their similarities and differences
The human body: Skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems
Light and vision: Understanding shadows, reflection, and how light affects perception
Astronomy and space: Properties of suns, moons, planets, and stars, and their movements
Forces and motion: Exploring how and why objects move
Please note that printables will be sent out every Sunday evening. Students will receive a letter grade at the end of the course.

Supplies Needed:

Access to a computer or tablet for online activities
Basic art supplies (crayons, construction paper)
A binder or folder to keep printables and assignments organized

By the end of this course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of third-grade subjects and be well-prepared for the next academic year.

Social Studies covers the following: (Our Social Studies curriculum is used commonly in the public schools; your learner may be very familiar with it. We will be using Pearson: Social Studies book. We will also be using 180 Day of Third-Grade Social Studies). You do not need to purchase this book for your learner. For Math will use the Eureka Curriculum.
