Beginner 레벨
This is a 3-Day Series. Students will meet 3 times to complete Part 1. Please note: Classes will meet 3 times within the same week for Summer Break & Winter Holiday weeks. Students will learn the fundamentals of traditional Chinese brush ink painting, its principles, techniques, subject matters and styles. Xieyi (freehand) style will be demonstrated. Week 1Lesson 1Intro & Counting NumbersStudents will learn how to use the supplies unique to ink painting. They will experiment with several swatch exercises in ink painting techniques. They will then be introduced to Pinyin and accents in Mandarin and practice counting numbers.Lesson 2Intro to Ink Painting TechniquesStudents will paint a row of birds on a tree branch and practice counting.Lesson 3Using Numbers in Grammatical Speech Context: Measure Words/ ClassifiersStudents will learn how numbers are used in conjunction with measure words/classifiers to count different nouns. Students will practice using the correct measure words for different nouns. They will paint a group of goldfish and practice counting with measure words.
