I absolutely love teaching literacy! I have worked alongside literacy experts in my educational leadership roles and am very experienced in extending gifted learners beyond the scope of their current grade level, as well as accelerating progress for those who need an extra boost. When I see my students' progress, this brings me so much joy, especially when I start to see their confidence grow!

I have several years of classroom experience delivering carefully planned, targeted curriculum to children in primary/elementary schools. My other specialties are literature, ESOL, mathematics, visual arts, and social-emotional skills. I also have experience teaching the Montessori Method, reflected in my calm and caring teaching persona.

Some tasks may include speed word lists, phonics activities, writing activities (linked to phonics or creative text responses), decodable reading passages, and dictation activities.

세부 내용: Assessment is always ongoing during these tutoring sessions, and I will respond to arising needs, gaps, and extension. In the first 1:1 session, I will assess a student's phonemic awareness and spelling appropriate to their year level (or current level if provided before the session, whether that is lower or higher than expected).

1:1 spelling tutoring supports dyslexic traits as these learners need more exposures and explicit teaching of the spelling rules learned in a traditional classroom environment.
