By creating a resume at a young age, students will feel less pressure when applying for their first job or volunteer experience. Following these first experiences, learners can simply add to their existing resume. 

In this one-time class, learners will gain practical knowledge about writing a resume from scratch, as well as insight about how to market themselves and highlight their existing skill sets as a young person. The importance of quality resume writing will be emphasized throughout.

This class will involve a combination of informative slides and examples, as well as interactive discussion questions (e.g. pros and cons of different resume templates and styles). At the end of class, learners will receive a one-page tip sheet that can be used as a guide for crafting their resume. Learners do not need any pre-requisite skills or past employment/volunteer experiences to be successful in this class. 

Following this 55-minute class, learners will be encouraged to create their own resume and send it to the instructor for feedback. This can happen at any point - even months down the road. One-on-one follow-up resume workshop sessions will be available upon request.
