情熱と目的が出会う：動物に関わる仕事の探求

This class explores a variety of careers working with animals, including hands-on jobs and essential support (non hands-on) jobs. I cover the variety of animal jobs I have held, what I studied in college, and how students can set them selves up for success in pursuing an animal career.
As a child, I knew I loved animals and wanted to work with them, but I wasn’t interested in becoming a veterinarian. Unfortunately, I was often led to believe that was the only path to study in college and pursue a career in. I was lucky to find a perfect fit in the new Animal Studies program at Eckerd College where I got to study and research so much about animals without the focus on biology. I love exposing kids to all the different career options available in the animal world, helping them see the many ways they can turn their passion into a profession.
My teaching style is engaging, student-centered, and designed to spark curiosity and creativity. We’ll explore the topics in an open, supportive environment that encourages questions and personal connections to the material.
