Imagine immersing yourself in the action? This class focuses on the weather phenomenon as well as the aftermath of it's destruction. Using video, photographs and historical accounts the class will be immersed in the weather.

We will be discussing the El Reno tornado, Dr. Loomis and his chicken experiments, sizes of tornados, animal rain, and what to do in case of a tornado.

Each class is taught using photographs, video and firsthand experiences regarding the strange, unusual and fierce weather of this world.

"To survive something like that, it's a miracle." El Reno tornado survivor.

We try to have lively and interesting conversations during our classes.

I use video, and audio content in this class and each class is researched for several hours and weeks before it is presented to the public. Please keep in mind also that all content is verifiable and can be sourced accurately for ease of access if you would like to go back and review it.

We will see videos, photographs, and hear firsthand accounts. Students will be interacting with me the entire time, as I will pose questions and lead discussions during the class. They will also be able to speak with each other.

Class layout: The class is a combination of interactivity, discussion and active sharing to create a dynamic learning environment. The class discussions are student led and student focuses, we will have time to share thoughts and experiences in this course.

Colette Lefebvre-Davis: I have a Bachelor of Arts in Public History, Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and a master's degree in public history. I love history, and I love the strange and unusual parts of it. I enjoy teaching facts, figures and theories that are not typically discussed in school. I have taught U.S History in public school, writing and anthropology. I have developed homeschool classes and curriculum for over 10 years. I am currently getting ready to teach college students this summer as well. Guess what, I lived in Tornado Alley for over 8 years as a National Park Ranger. I saw these funnels of destruction hopping on the prairie! So not only have I researched it, but I've also lived it. I love the strange and unusual and can't wait to discuss it in class!
