I am a licensed elementary teacher with many years experience teaching in schools. I also have 3 young children of my own that I do STEM projects with.
Class 1: muffin tin or 5 bowls/plastic containers, 10 ice cubes, spoon, paper towels, a few spoonful's of each: sugar, hot/steaming water, cold water, salt Class 2: gallon-sized ziploc bag, black and orange Sharpie markers (or markers that could write on the bag.-if you don't have Sharpie markers, it's ok! :)), paper towels, baking soda, spoon, vinegar, container to set the ziploc bag inside (such as a 13 x 9 pan) Class 3: 7up or Sprite (fresh and carbonated), glass, fresh raisins, spoon, paper towel Class 4: baking pan or big bowl, enough milk to cover the pan (about 1/4 deep), assorted food coloring, q-tips, dish soap Class 5: -4 gallon-sized ziploc bags, 4 eggs (raw eggs), flour, paper towels, cereal, ice, paper towels *to prep for class 6, students should also bring 1-2 containers large enough to hold one egg each with vinegar, 1-2 raw eggs, white vinegar, food coloring (optional)* *Parent support will be needed with this class! This experiment may get messy so having a parent/adult sit nearby will help.* Class 6: bring your containers with egg/vinegar from class 5, flashlight (optional)
Parent support (off-camera) will be very useful as needed when kids work through the projects each week and in prepping the materials for each project.
