In this class, your child will gather some of their favorite art materials to create a toadstool/mushroom picture. We will create the background together using leaf prints and paints and create a mushroom with red and white construction paper and white paint. As for the rest? That's up to your imagination! White background paper Fall leaves Paint in autumn colors (red, yellow, brown, orange, green) Red construction paper and white construction paper either pre-cut into the mushroom top and bottom (see photo) and with scissors for your child to cut freely A glue stick A paintbrush Water for cleaning the brush If desired, a pencil with an eraser. The eraser may be used to make dots on the toadstool. Additional materials: Paper doilies or autumn-themed paper, crayons, ribbons, materials from nature-- basically anything your child might like to add to their painting to make it even more amazing.
Children will be using paint, glue, and scissors (unless the adult has precut the mushroom shapes), which can get messy. Please be sure you have protected your crafting area and your child from spills and stains.
