⚠️ This class is great for younger readers from Kindergarten - 2nd grade! It will be primarily targeted towards stronger Kindergarten readers and struggling 2nd grade readers. ⚠️


👋Hello Parents! :D My name is Mr. Malcolm and I have been working with children for over 7 years now. A lot of my experience has been working with young children from Pre-K all the way up to High School. I have worked with public schools, charter schools, government programs and online platforms. I taught over 3000 online classes and many of those were with young students who were learning their foundational skills of language arts and reading!

📖 I have specialized in teaching reading courses and helping young students learn the foundational building blocks of language arts as well as becoming TESOL & TEFL certified (Which means my classes are ESL friendly and incorporate a lot of kinesthetic, visual & sensory learning techniques to help the students enjoy the lesson while also helping them remember what we learned).


➡️ In this Ongoing class students can expect to laugh, work together and most importantly improve their reading abilities in an engaging environment!

🗣️ We will do this by beginning each lesson with engaging Phonological/Phonemic Awareness activities, such as listening and repeating rhyming words, Blending and Segmenting different syllables within words, Isolating Individual Phonemes and More! These are all crucial skills that are many times overlooked (which can heavily impact a student's reading ability and skills). 

📚 Next, the students will begin working on their phonics and decoding abilities by choosing from a diverse selection of decodable (yet engaging books). We will all go through the story togehter and work on our phonics skills by decoding the different passages while also incorporating some stimulating Comprehensive questions!

😆 Each class will be student led, as the students will be able to choose the story that is read that week which will determine what phonics skills they will be learning and focusing on. Whether it is short vowels, double vowels, digraphs/diphthongs etc. :)

All of the passages and stories used in this course have either been written or selected by the teacher. And permission has been granted for the passages to be used. :)
