Getting ready for kindergarten today requires more than ever before. During our private tutoring sessions I will first do a fun little pre-assessment to see strengths and areas for growth with your child. I'll then tailor my teaching to your child's needs and any specific requests from you as long as they are developmentally appropriate. 
The majority of my teaching is done using hands-on methods, so there will be activity packets for you to print out. I will also be sure to incorporate some lessons that use technology if requested as many schools now are implementing computers and tablets into the classrooms. 
These private sessions are perfect for children who are new to letters and letter sounds, syllables, rhyming, retelling & sequencing stories, making predictions, answering questions about a story's characters, problem and solution, numbers, counting, patterns, measurement, and classifying. If after the first assessment your child demonstrates proficiency with all of these skills, I will begin working with him or her on blending sounds, sight words, and other more advanced kindergarten skills.
