In this weekly ongoing course, we will do a different STEAM project each week!  We will cover the five STEAM topics:  science, technology, engineering, arts, & mathematics.  During each class, the learners will solve a problem by completing a project related to these areas.  We will engage in STEAM projects together, predicting the outcomes, observing and discussing the processes, and analyzing the end results.  After doing the project together, we will engage in a discussion about it and how we can take it further.  This concluding activity promotes positive discussion, strengthening communication as well as critical thinking skills.

Week of April 21:  Space Art Resist - Learn about the sun, moon, planets, asteroids, comets, & more, and create a beautiful work of art about the solar system!
Materials:  paper, crayons or oil pastels, watercolor paints, brush, bowl, towel

Week of April 28:  Oreo Eclipse - Discover what happens when the moon passes between the earth and the sun in an edible way!
Materials:  Oreos or cream cookies

Week of May 5:  Astrological Art - Learn about the astrological signs and symbols and create a beautiful artwork based on the meanings of each.
Materials:  paper, coloring materials

Week of May 12:  Handform Landforms - How does water flow?  Come and see the different ways water flows by handmaking our own landforms and watching what happens!
Materials:  sand/dirt, water, large tray

Week of May 19:  Edible Rainbow - Make your own edible rainbow using only the primary colors of frosting, and learn how mix every color of the rainbow! 
Materials:  vanilla frosting, food coloring in red, yellow, & blue, plain cookies or graham crackers

Week of May 26:  Creative Clouds - Do you ever wonder about all of the different cloud formations?  Come learn and create the different types of clouds and see what you can find hiding in them!
Materials:  2 sheets of blue paper, tempera paint, paper plate or palette, brush, water, bowl, towel, cotton, glue

Week of June 2:  Digital Creations - Creating digital art is so much fun!  You can learn how to create your own digital art, as well as play with popular digital tools.
Materials:  computer or laptop

Week of June 9:  Cave Art - Discover the very first art in the world!  Long ago, early people painted on the walls of caves.  Come discover the wonder of these caves and create your very own Cave Art with your own handmade Earth Paint!
Materials:  paper, pencil, crayons or chalk pastels, paintbrush, dirt, glue

Week of June 16:  Stunning Symmetry - Have a blast using paint to discover how to transfer art elements to make a stunning image!
Materials:  paper, tempera paint, brush, water, bowl, towel, paper plate/palette
