If your student needs a caring and engaging class to learn how to form letters correctly, introduce spelling patterns, build a strong phonemic awareness foundation, strengthen first sight word recognition and learn how to dictate complete sentences, this course would be a beneficial addition to their education! Feel free to have your child join this ongoing course at any time; however, due to the multi-sensory component of this course, please note that the requested supplies on the learner supply list are essential and required for your child's success and ability to participate in the live class instruction. During each class, I will provide direct, multi-sensory spelling, literacy and writing instruction. Students will develop a deeper understanding of syllables, different letter sounds (phonemes), blend sounds, beginning spelling rules, word recognition and correct letter formation on large notebook paper lines. Each live class is designed to be incredibly engaging and interactive for each student, providing many opportunities for different senses and kinesthetic body movements to ensure different areas of your child's brain is engaged in the learning process. This helps strengthen retention, long-term memory and sustains children's interest throughout class. High repetitions and positive feedback is incorporated to each class meeting to help build student confidence and proficiency of the material. I will provide writing and spelling instruction utilizing CVC and beginning sight words in each class. Students will be supported and challenged by me throughout each class based on their individual needs. Although each student's needs are different, families should notice improvements in your child's reading, penmanship, letter formation or spelling abilities after just a few classes. Penmanship is usually the first thing to improve! We'll focus on reading, correctly writing, and spelling. Each session of my multi-sensory reading, writing and spelling class will be structured based on a mix of 4-10 different words. Students will have repeated directed instruction opportunities to: 1. Hear the word 2. Experience visuals and/or sounds for the word 3. Identify spelling patterns within the word 4. Read the word 5. Segment and divide the word into individual sounds and syllables 6. Build the word 7. Sensory work with the word 8. Learn proper letter formations and handwriting rules 9. Write the word independently 10. Use the word in a sentence verbally Students that enroll in this course should be able to correctly identify the name and sound of at least 22 lowercase letters of the alphabet and know how to read the following words independently: "I", "a" Because this is an ongoing subscription class, your payment will be charged each Sunday of the week a class is scheduled. If your child will be unable to attend all classes in a week, you may choose to unsubscribe from the class prior to Sunday and you won't be charged for that week; however, it isn't possible for me to hold your seat in the class when you unsubscribe if it were to fill up with another learner.

Prior to your student's first class, please obtain the supplies for the class. A parent will need to cut three strips of textured tape (most people use glitter washi tape) and place them to your child's magnetic board like my picture example posted on the Outschool classroom page shows. You can see the picture on our classroom page under your child's "Learner Schedule" on Outschool.com after enrolling.
受講に必要なもの
Magnetic board with letters: https://amzn.to/32ew6zV Glitter textured washi tape (most families find this easily at Michael's or Hobby Lobby - example: https://amzn.to/2WjwoBA ) *Note: Due to students who may wish to tap on their screen during class to assist learning and the use of two instructor cameras during, this class is best accessed via a computer/laptop/chromebook rather than a tablet/phone if families have the option* The last few minutes of class will be an interactive game between students. Students should bring a separate device with an internet browser like a parent's smartphone, iPad, or laptop, or if students know how to use the mouse on their computer, it is easiest to teach them how to click the link I'll post in the chat. Students may need support the last 6 minutes of their first few classes getting set up with the game initially. They should play the game independently once they’re signed up to allow them to practice. They do not need an account and won't login. I will provide the game code live in zoom when it’s time to play, as well as posting the helpful link they can directly click in the chat once the time comes.
