*I recommend purchasing "Kumon Pre Algebra-Grades 6-8. However, it is not needed to be successful in this course. The Kumon Algebra 6-8 workbook covers fundamental algebra concepts tailored for middle school students. Here is a typical table of contents for the Kumon Algebra 6-8 workbook: With this workbook, learners will have an opportunity to master each topic in pre-algebra in a step-by-step manner, building both understanding and confidence. Topics include fractions, exponents, order of operations, positive and negative numbers, algebraic expressions, and more. The order in which units are covered is subject to change at the instructors discretion but this will not affect the curriculum covered. Class Structure/Experience: Students will learn and practice NEW concepts weekly. I will review submissions and provide individual feedback to ensure students are mastering the concepts. Teaching Style: Student-Centered !!! LOTS of interactive activities, games and discussions !!! Research proves that a student-centered instructional model is key to learning! Interaction Level: Medium to High !!! Students will have an opportunity to engage with me via their learner chat! It is my first priority to ensure the safety of all students so open classroom chat will be limited. All interactive activities are selected to maximize learning while providing a safe environment to do so!

External resources will be used to enhance learning. These resources will be used during class time via screen share or during independent work time. Some external resources used will require student accounts which will be activated and assigned by the teacher at no additional cost to you. The teacher will assign generic (no personal identifiers) username/passwords for each student. The student will only have access to their generic accounts while enrolled in my course.
