We will read together the Shakespeare play, "Macbeth" from a text called "No Fear Shakespeare" which has the modern plain English version on one side and the Shakespearean 'original' version on the other side. The "No Fear" book also provides some study helps that a student might find useful, and we may look through those to develop some discussion points as we read the text.
Our schedule will look something like this:
Week 1: Intro to story and characters
Understanding how...Be able to discuss the play and the themes of MACBETH by Shakespeare
I've taught HS English and Practical English for 9-12 graders in public school setting (at least three years).

Learner is assessed mostly informally by teacher. Teacher will check for understanding with periodic questions about the text. Additionally, there may be a longer writing assignment at the end of the course, in order to allow student to show his/her knowledge of the theme(s) of the reading.成績が提供されます
A personal copy of "No Fear Shakespeare Macbeth" Deluxe Student Edition, by Spark Publishing paper and pen or pencil (for notes and vocab list)
Parents need to know that Macbeth isn't appropriate for little kids because of its mature themes -- including murder, witches and ghosts, alcohol consumption, and sexually suggestive language. It's not overtly graphic compared to today's violence seen in movies. Many young kids won't likely understand everything because of the use of Shakespearean English. That is why having the modern English version on the side is so helpful.
We may refer to M-W.com (Merriam-Webster dictionary/thesaurus online) in order to understand some words.
