スズキリコーダーを始めよう: ソプラノリコーダー (小グループ、4～7 歳)

The age range for this class is 4-7. Students age 6-7 who have been learning another instrument for at least a year might prefer to join the 6-9 year old class where we move at a slightly faster pace. 5 year old "Suzuki kids" who have been learning a Suzuki method instrument for over 2 years may also join the 6-9 class. Contact me if you would like to check which class is most suitable.

Please note that this class will only run if at least three learners are enrolled. If the minimum number is not met you will be offered the opportunity to enroll in an individual or pair lesson in the same time slot or to transfer into a different small group class. 

In this online 6-week course students will learn up to five beginner recorder pieces from Suzuki Recorder Volume 1. 

These pieces are:
One Bird, Variation A
One Bird, Variation B
Now We Sing
Mary Had a Little Lamb
Suo Gan 

The Suzuki Method is carefully designed to teach a new technique with each piece. We will start the course with pre-instrument steps and progress through the Suzuki Repertoire at a comfortable pace for each student.

Students do not need any prior experience of recorder playing but it may be helpful, especially for younger students, to participate in my one-off 'Get Ready for Recorder' class before enrolling on this course.

Each class will include a short section of personalised individual tuition. Students are encouraged to proceed at their own pace throughout the duration of the course. It is possible that not every student will be able to master all five pieces by the end of the course. There will be plenty of opportunity for participation in the lesson for all students.

As this is a Suzuki class, students will be learning to play by ear and they will not be reading written notation at this stage. It works very well for Suzuki learners of any instrument.
