**NEW EVENING CLASS JUST LISTED! Enroll for Art Club on Wednesdays at 7:45 PM EST (4:45 PM PST)** WELCOME TO "I CAN DRAW ART CLUB!" Classes are on-going throughout the school year, Monday through Thursday, with day and evening sections. Please take a look at the class schedule for availability. Be sure to join the Waitlist for sold out classes. And please message me anytime with questions! Let’s learn to draw! In this ongoing, once per week class, students ages 5-9 years old will learn the basics of drawing. Each week, students will be carefully instructed step-by-step on how to create an easy to intermediate level drawing. **Please see the weekly drawing topic schedule below to find out what we will be drawing.** Students will also be able to interact with the teacher and classmates, ask questions, share their creations, and hear some silly jokes! From September through June, art club classes are available Monday through Thursday each week during daytime hours. Evening classes are also available Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, but tend to be sold out, so be sure to add your learner to the new "Waitlist" to be notified first of any openings. Our Art Club class covers one drawing topic per week, with many day/time options to help accommodate learners' schedules. If you’d just like to try out a class or two, you can easily stop or pause your subscription anytime. Class subscriptions are automatically renewed every Sunday. If your learner misses class, they are welcome to watch the class video recording that will be available on the classroom page. You can also stop or pause your subscription by the Sunday before class, any week that your learner cannot attend. Class transfers can also be arranged (depending on availability) if you should ever need to change your class day/time. Please message the teacher with any questions. Art Club classes will run weekly September through mid June. **During some holidays/special events we will not meet for class, please be sure to check the class schedule.** Classes will also be available during the end of June, July and August, with a slightly different day/time schedule. **Please note: Some drawing topics may repeat after one year. Beginning of class: We will greet each other, sing a welcome song, and briefly talk about our drawing topic for the week (see schedule below). Middle of class: We will follow directions to create a new drawing. Students are encouraged to follow along with the teacher, but also feel free to add their own creativity and ideas to the drawing. We will also begin to color our drawings with crayons, colored pencils, or washable markers. Depending on the difficulty level of the drawing, students may need to finish coloring after class if additional time is needed. End of class: We will take turns sharing our drawings with the class and telling our favorite parts of the drawing. The teacher will also provide feedback for each student and give positive praise. Welcome to my classroom! My name is Miss Dara. I am so glad you stopped by! I teach the "I Can Draw Art Club" class, and we always have a fantastic time learning how to draw something new each week. We also learn how to improve our drawing and coloring skills, practice our listening skills, and socialize with our teacher and friends. I hope you can join us soon!
One thing you should know about me is that I have always loved all things art related and being creative! I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master’s in Elementary Education. I am state certified to teach Elementary Education K-6 and Art Education K-12. I taught in an elementary school for 7 years, until my son and daughter were born. For the past 7 years, I have been teaching online. It has been such an amazing experience!
I am so excited to get the opportunity to work with students on Outschool and help them foster a love of art. My teaching style is very flexible, caring, and creative. My goal is to help students find inspiration in art and build their confidence. I love to make connections with my students and get to know their interests.
Besides teaching art, my other passions are plant-based cooking, going to the shore with my family, playing guitar, and watching movies with our 2 lap cats. I look forward to meeting you soon. Thanks for visiting!
