In this one-time class, we will go over basic dictionary skills. We will talk about what a dictionary is, why it’s important, the parts of a dictionary, the parts of a dictionary entry, guide words, choosing the best definition, and more! Every learner will have several opportunities to participate by reading, moving words to where they belong alphabetically as well as into which page they would belong on by looking at the guide words. We will practice identifying different parts of a dictionary, and what those parts are used for.
