In this group beginner piano class the foundation will be set for learning to play the piano quickly, efficiently and proficiently. The objective for this class is to have learners jump started into playing the piano with both hands, reading music, memorizing music and have a good understanding how to practice properly.
I hold a B.S. in music education with a proficiency in piano and a secondary in voice from Bob Jones University. My teacher's, teacher's teacher was the piano instructor for the famous pianist Glenn Gould. I'm a "Master Teacher" at my local Music & Arts store, an instructor and a sub at a local 80 year old music store, a teacher at a booming dance and music studio, as well as teaching in my own home. I've been teaching since I was 16 years old and been playing the piano for 50 years. To date I've taught over 6,000 remote ESL lessons (with VIPKid) and tons of lessons here on Outschool in 3 years, hundreds of my own lessons over the years so my patience has absolutely no limits! 😉 I may green screen YouTube once in awhile, during the lessons, to have them listen to other pianists.

Parents, I highly suggest that you sit in on these 6 lessons with your learner and also help with the camera so that I can see their hands while they play for me. You're not supposed to be on the camera but you can help with it. Know that I hear the excuse all of the time from parents, “But I don’t know anything about playing music.” and I don’t buy into it. With just a little of your time and help your learner can get off on the right foot. The information that I’m presenting will not be difficult for you to understand. My piano practice method is not at all conventional but it works and works fast! So you’ll need to know what in the world I’m talking about so you can continue to help your learner once the class is over. They will be excited about learning! Just a heads up, if you’d like your learner to continue on with lessons with me, I do teach private lessons here on Outschool. You will need to purchase method books and message me for a lesson time. My weekly work time is limited but I'll do my best to work with you and your schedule. 🔸I have my students choose: (1 or 2) “In Recital” books. There are several genres to choose from.
