Join Miss Mackenzie in learning geography and meteorology, while also having fun! Learners will learn the basic elements of a map, globes, geographic characteristics of their community, weather, meteorology tools and forecasts, seasons, landforms, habitats and resources. All of the topics covered in these classes are based off of various United States standards for first grade or second grade social studies or geography. This ongoing class will be great for an advanced kindergartener, current first grader, or second grader that could use some review. Each week will cover different standards: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monday Classes: 2/19: World in Spatial Terms- Maps 2/26: World in Spatial Terms- Globes 12/18: Locations and Direction Words 12/25: NO CLASS (Christmas Break) 1/8: Renewable and Non-Renewable Resources 1/15: Weather Systems 1/22: Meteorology Tools and Forecasts 1/29: Seasons 2/5: Bodies of Water 2/12: Landforms 2/19: Habitats Thursday Classes: 2/8: World in Spatial Terms- Maps 2/15: World in Spatial Terms- Globes 12/14: Locations and Direction Words 12/21: Renewable and Non-Renewable Resources 12/28: Weather Systems 1/11: Meteorology Tools and Forecasts 1/18: NO CLASS 1/25: Seasons 2/1: Bodies of Water 2/8: Landforms 2/15: Habitats -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Lessons will cycle back through and there is no end date. Your learner can join any time without feeling left out or behind :) Learners will need a piece of paper and something to write with for each class! They can also bring coloring utensils if they would like. Each class will include a slide show with interactive activities, as well as an activity that the learner can complete at the end of class and share with their peers. Each class will also encourage learners to interact with each other and discuss the topics. Learners will have fun so that they are more likely to retain the information learned! Hi friends! My name is Miss Mackenzie. Welcome to my profile!
The classes that I love to teach are social studies, geography, and circle time for young learners!
I graduated from Indiana University in 2019 with my bachelors degree in Allied Health Sciences. I worked as an ABA Therapist/Registered Behavior Technician for over 3 years. I worked primarily with elementary aged kiddos on the autism spectrum! I have been teaching online since 2021 and love every minute of it.
My teaching philosophy includes setting my learners up for success, as well as having fun in the classroom! I like to utilize games, activities, and art. I want each student to succeed and feel safe when I am their teacher! I truly believe that learners learn best when they are having fun. This is why each of my classes feature some sort of drawing or sharing activity.
I absolutely love being a mom and spending time with family! I have a three year old daughter, a one year old daughter, and a fur baby (a four year old silver Labrador Retriever.) I'm from the Midwest and I love camping, boating, and pretty much anything outdoors!レビュー
