Why do some things sink and some things float? We will investigate this question today while making a density tower. Our density tower will have four different liquids. We will watch as some layers float and sink, forming our tower. Once we have created our tower, we will drop some small household objects and guess if they will float or sink. We will use our experiments to discuss density. You will need a drinking glass or clear glass jar, optional food coloring, water, corn syrup or honey or molasses, cooking oil, dish soap, and food coloring. **Bring different objects to test!** You may bring as many optional solid materials; some ideas include bottlecap, marble, cherry tomato or grape, and dice.
