このクラスで学べること
In this WEEKLY learner-directed, ongoing class, we will engage in back and forth conversations about our favorite topics, such as music, gaming, books, art, TV shows, etc. Students will take turns answering questions, talking to their peers, and make new friends! We will play games such as trivia, would you rather, two truths and a lie, and bingo. This is a no-pressure class where students can express themselves in a safe and fun setting. Please refer to the checklist at the bottom of this section so that your student in successful in class. We will start the class with brief introductions, then have students complete an ice breaker and start our discussions/games. We will practice prompting with questions, discuss subjects with interest, and implement back and forth verbal communication. Students will also be taught how to approach an opinion that they don't agree with and how to handle that situation in the best manner. We will talk about setting goals for yourself and what’s the best way to achieve your goals. EXAMPLES for past activities completed in my classes: ⇢ Week 1: Students will play a game of “Would you rather”. ⇢ Week 2: Students will participate in “Trivia”. ⇢ Week 3: Students will play a game of “Fact or Fiction?” ⇢ Week 4: Students will participate in a “Day in review” discussion. My games are created with your child in mind! I create the games we play during class time with topics, characters, movies, etc that your child has interest in. Keeping learners active in class and excited is tricky, but by having games and discussions catered to their interests, it makes learning easy! My goal is to allow students to have a comfortable, social learning environment where they can practice their social skills with their peers and learn from others while talking about their favorite topics. This class will help build your student’s overall confidence when engaging with others! Please know that this class is a stepping stone for those that have basic knowledge of social skills and need to put those learned skills into play. Learners that have not yet mastered social skills might not be a good fit for this class. If your student requires specific accommodations, please message me prior to class so we can make sure this is a good fit. I am more than happy to discuss any questions or concerns prior to enrollment. Classroom Checklist: 1. Occasionally we might play Jackbox Party games, which are rated T for Teen by the ESRB. The games played in class will have a Family-Friendly filter turned on from the settings menu. With the Family-Friendly Filter enabled, the games are closer to an E10+ rating.

教師の専門知識と資格
I have taught my homeschooled children for over 10 years, from elementary age through high school academic subjects/curriculum. I have a background teaching autistic children, those with ADHD, developmental and intellectual disabilities, social anxiety, mental disorders, and physical disabilities for 10 years. I create curriculum and plan lessons around my student’s specific academic needs. Each child learns differently and at their own pace. It takes a dedicated teacher to pinpoint what type of learner a student is (visual, kinesthetic, auditory, or logical). By learning what different styles my students learned best in, I created a unique lesson plan that helped them reach their full potential.
I have over 20 years of experience working directly with youth in my community. I have volunteered for over 8 years with the special needs community and am currently involved with several groups in my area. As a current Certified Coach with the Special Olympics organization, I help student-athletes, ages 8 and above, reach their full potential on and off the field. I teach them to correctly verbalize their frustrations, communicate productively with teammates, develop lasting friendships, and self-advocate. These actions help the athletes have overall better sportsmanship and be a better teammate.
I am currently studying Child Psychology, which gives me better insight into developing minds. I have a great passion for helping students with their socio-emotional needs.
