Students learn techniques for improving their art skills level with drawing and shading the basic shapes: the cube, sphere, cylinder and the cone. Student will apply the shading (values) that makes their image look 3 dimensional, which includes discussion about value and the drawing pencils. Attention will be directed for helping them understand the different drawing pencils and the purpose of a value scale. Each class is a different dynamic and some will need more help with different shapes than another. The student needs to have some basic skill for drawing a circle and a square.

Students will need: 2 or 3 drawing pencils, a 2B, 2H and a 4B is preferred. Ruler Eraser Sketchbook, 9 x 12, multi-media, preferred. If not available, may also use blank paper, especially, if drawing for the first time.
