Costume design is a very creative practice but also requires skill and knowledge. I can help any student with problems that are related to their costume design experience. I can help with the analysis of characters, any readings, and the development of the design. I can also solve any sewing problems or issues with sketching. My approach to teaching especially during tutoring is one on one help. I love to have discussions and problem solve with each student individually. I use visuals and demonstrates to help students understand how to complete tasks and I love to try new techniques in design and sewing as well. If you are requesting tutoring for a student who is already experienced in costuming, I can help them with any steps in the process. If you are a beginner and want one on one instruction, I can plan a detailed curriculum for us to work with!

I have an AAS degree in Fashion Merchandising, BS in Clothing and Textiles, MAT in Family and Consumer Sciences Education, and Phd in Apparel, Consumer, Retail Studies.
