In this course, students will learn how to draw and watercolor paint 6 Christmas Holiday paintings: Santa, Reindeer, Poinsettia, Gingerbread Man, Christmas Tree, and Snowman! Designed with beginners in mind, the pre-recorded video classes in this course are suitable for ages 6-9. 

The teaching process used for the drawing portion of these classes is a step-by-step method that will inspire students into creative action! This process involves observing, following instructions, and creating until each student is happy with the outcome. 

Students will learn basic drawing and watercolor painting techniques and apply these techniques to complete the projects in this course. This art course is designed to give beginner artists the skills they need to jump-start their artistic journey into self-expression, reflection, and creative thinking. 

Supplies and materials needed for this course: 

+watercolor paper
+set of watercolor paints
+white acrylic paint (for snowflakes)
+paint brushes
+set of oil pastels or crayons
+printable pattern example sheets (optional)
+small paper plate (to use as a palette)
+cup of water
+paper towels

Steps to complete these projects: 

Step 1: Draw a Christmas Holiday Design
Step 2: Paint the Design
Step 3: Paint the Background

Time needed for students to complete each project is approximately 30-40 minutes. These are self-paced video classes where students may proceed through the classes at their own pace. Videos may be paused at any time. There will be no live meetings, however, I will be available for questions and gentle encouragement. 

It is important to me that your learner's experience is a positive one. My teaching style is relaxed, supportive, joyful, and fun. I encourage students to add their own details to their masterpieces to make them their own. I'm open to any comments, questions, or feedback that you may have.
