Dive into the text to discover meaning into what the author is saying
Incorporate the gradual release of responsibility: I do We do You do
Responsibility of reading at home and bring their thinking and discoveries to the next class
Complete a book journal made by teacher to help guide their thinking during the text.

During each week students will be asked to read 2-3 chapters on their own outside of class and fill in their comprehension journal. This will keep them on the same pace as each other and ready to start for the next class. This also promotes accountability and responsibility for their own reading! Students will read in class out loud with each other and complete comprehension questions in class. Outside work will be expected to be completed before our next reading! All books must be purchased to participate fully!

Students will keep track of their thinking during each chapter in their own Readers Journal for each book in the book club series.

Each meeting will have activities that coincide with each chapter that we read together.

EACH book is approximately 6 weeks long I will post the end dates and tentative start dates for next books as we go along...books are subject to change base off of learners interest too :)

Students will need their own copy of the book. I will share the chapters that we read together on the screen and provide their reading comprehension journal for each book! Please print before our first meeting of each week! :)
