Whether it is providing unique, hands-on learning experiences in our exhibits and educational programs, conducting new research that sets the standard for zoos across the country or building innovative solutions for species and habitat conservation in countries around the world, Butterfly Pavilion is leading the way in ensuring invertebrates are protected for the future. Butterfly Pavilion is an invertebrate zoo that features animals that are considered frightening to many people. Our intention is to talk about these animals with an open mind, while highlighting the many benefits these animals provide for us and the world at large, but in doing so this class may expose students to varied media of animals they may be afraid of including, but not limited to, spiders, cockroaches, bees, and other invertebrates.
