このクラスで学べること

英語レベル - 不明
米国の学年 3 - 6
Students will explore the diverse world of bees and learn how to tell them apart. They will also learn about the challenges they are facing and how they can help protect these pollinators. This class will include introductions on the information and activity, a lesson, and support time for Q&A about the topic.

We approach education with a learner-driven lens and center problem-based learning in our programs. We strive to raise awareness about the importance of invertebrates, build compassion and empathy for the natural world, and empower learners to take action and make a difference for their planet.

Learners are encouraged to ask questions via audio or chat. There will be opportunities both before and after the program for learners to interact with each other and the teacher.

Basic awareness of bees and pollinators is useful knowledge but not required.

Butterfly Pavilion is an invertebrate zoo that features animals that are considered frightening to many people. Our intention is to talk about these animals with an open mind, while highlighting the many benefits these animals provide for us and the world at large, but in doing so this class may expose students to varied media of animals they may be afraid of including, but not limited to, spiders, cockroaches, bees, and other invertebrates.
