In this class, we will look at and discuss the classic book Anne of Avonlea. Looking at how the characters develop and what we can learn from this author. You do not have to have taken the first Anne class to take this class. Week 1. Lucy Montgomery: her life and other books she wrote. Why is Anne so loved that another book was written? Homework: Read Chapters 1 through 5. Week 2. What lessons can we learn from Anne? Review homework. Homework: Read Chapters 6 through 10. Week 3. What can we learn about the friendships that Anne has made in her life? Review homework. Homework: Read Chapters 11 through 15. Week 4. What can we learn about how Anne teaches her students? Homework: Read Chapters 16 through 20. Week 5. Marilla and Anne how has their relationship and Rachel Lynde's relationship changed? Homework: Read Chapters 21 through 25. Week 6. What is Anne and Gilbert's relationship and how has it changed? Homework: Read chapters 26 through 30 and write a paragraph about what was the main difference between Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea. Week 7: We will discuss what we have learned about Anne and how her character has developed and changed. No homework. --Classes are subject to change.

I am originally from Britain, and as a child, I went around many stately homes. My parents were both born in the 1930s, and my Mum's stories of WWII allowed me to see history in such a different way.
