おしっこの歴史：序論

Whether you call it urine, pee, wee or something else - most of us don't think twice about after we flush it down the toilet. Throughout history though, it's been a different story. People have used pee in many different ways. In this class, we will explore the history of this fascinating, but yucky, topic. 

We will learn about how Romans and Medieval people used pee in their lives, from dying their hair to cleaning. We'll learn about how alchemists tried (and failed) to use pee to make gold and how they accidentally discovered phosphorus instead. We'll also talk about how urine helped to win the American Revolution. By focusing on pee, students will be introduced to historical topics in a fun, yucky but very important way.

Class will be discussion based with images and questions to prompt discussion. Primary and secondary images will be shown in class to help prompt the conversations. If your learner is unsure about speaking in class, there will be opportunities for them to participate using hand gestures.

No prior knowledge is needed for this course. To get the most out of the class, it would be useful for your learner to have a vague concept of time (for example, knowing that 1,000 years ago is before 200 years ago)
